In a statement released to the media on Monday, GM Kader, the Chairman of Jatiya Party, strongly accused the government of filing false cases under the name of "Operation Devil Hunt" to target opposition voices.
Quader claimed,
"It appears that there is a widespread crackdown on opposing views under the name of Operation Devil Hunt. In addition, fake cases are being filed as part of this operation."
The Jatiya Party leader also spoke out about the ongoing persecution of his party members.
He said, "Jatiya Party is being subjected to relentless oppression. Numerous false cases have been lodged against our leaders and activists. People are being arrested, and bail is being denied. We are facing obstacles in holding peaceful political activities like meetings, protests, and processions."
He further added, "Attacks are being carried out on the homes and businesses of our party leaders. Now, under the new phase of Operation Devil Hunt, fake cases are being filed against our members. Just yesterday, false cases were filed against some of the Jatiya Party leaders in Gazipur. We strongly protest and condemn this."
GM Quader called on the interim government to take immediate action to end the harassment and oppression of innocent citizens.
